Darkfallen are a vampiric race of undead elves. They appear in the "World of Warcraft" series.

History[]

After the Third War, the blood elf race was cut off from their main source of magic, the Sunwell. Not being desperate for aid, Kael'Thas Sunstrider pledged his allegiance to the horde, who granted them a brand new source of magic. With their new allies of the horde, naga went to Northrend to attempt to slay the Lich King. Unfortunately Arthas, the Lich King died. He raised the most powerful night elves as darkfallen and named the faction the San'layn. The surviving Blood elfs returned to Outland with Kael'Thas.

A large number of blood elfs were lost in the frozen wastes of Northrend. One survivor was Lana'tol who wielded the elven blade named Del'akar. She was not match for the Lich King's sword Frostmourne. The Lich King decided to revive her into undeath and lead the darkfallen. The darkfallen currently are watching over the Scourge operations throughout Azeroth, with their masters in the Lich King's throne citadel, Icecrown Citadel.

Culture[]

Darkfallen are expert magic wielders and can master many different types of magic as well. They often use their vampiric skills for blood-related objectives and even have the ability to shapeshift. Due to their vampiric state, they have a diet of flesh, blood and even the souls of their victims.

Common clothing colors for darkfallen is usually black, red and orange, much like their blood elf brethren. They also share some key beliefs with the Scourge and use unique decorations in certain Scourge bases.

Darkfallen are also seen as leaders throughout Northrend, often commanding a Scourge stronghold.
